And we have a winner! After a deadly battle for dominance, Lord Voldemort bested Sauron in this year’s literary battle royale. We’re not entirely sure what this means for the fate of the world (for goodness sake, someone call Harry Potter!), but as always it was a fascinating and fun bookish twist on March Madness. Thanks to everyone who voted in Bas Bleu‘s Tournament of Classics 2016!

The moment has come. The end is nigh.
Sixteen conniving and corrupt competitors came to play in Bas Bleu‘s Tournament of Classics 2016, a March Madness roster of literary villains unlike any we’ve ever faced before. After a tightly contested Final Four, only two players still stand on a battlefield strewn with their lifeless enemies. They are tyrants so awful they’re frequently referred to only as “He Who Must Not Be Named” and “The Eye.” But if there is one thing we’ve learned from J. K. Rowling and J. R. R. Tolkien, neither Lord Voldemort nor Sauron (the Lord of the Rings himself!) will stop until he possesses absolute power…or, in this case, bragging rights over his literary rival.
So who is the baddest of them all? Only you can decide–vote below!
